maybe i should make it clear that i think the entire iran war sucks and i want no one to die, no one to be bombed and no one to be hurt. i am making a point of highlighting that the US is fucked militarily as well as economically because most people i talk to think that what's happening at the moment is a weird aberration and the US is 'holding back'.
what's really happening is that we're on the verge of the global economy being royally fucked and the US has realised how fucked we all are.
the US will be fine by the way, they'll just fuck the global economy then go back to ataturky and have a great quality of life while the rest of the world burns. And china will happily pick up the slack as the global hegemon. I just think if your government or your society decides to tie itself to the dying ship of US empire you're gonna have a bad time.
humans are adaptive, the economy will re-order itself, societies will collapse and reform, the next 10 years might suck ass, but we'll survive. it's best to be flexibly minded in times of epochal change.
