I’m thinking more about my idea that being off the big platforms is like being vegetarian.
It’s easier to get your fill on threads / x / reddit / facebook.
It’s easier to power a big day of programming with bangers and mash than with a roast kumara salad.
But the best meal is when it’s got lots of vegetables, lots of care and time (the time is important, the 40 minutes standing in the kitchen, tidying, cleaning, seasoning, cooking, chatting, relaxing), AND a little bit of well seasoned and deliciously cooked meats or fish. For me the protein in the meat makes my brain do thinking real real good.
So… What does that mean?
I guess it means I want to be able to follow people on Flare, and have some kind of service that can ingest X and Threads. Like, I want to be on Flare (or my own social networking app if I ever get around to finishing it), but I want to be able to follow people and reply to them on my own social media. The author will probably never see my reply - but when I quote people and repost them it’s for my memory, not for the author. It used to be you could connect to people on twitter - but that was like 2008.
So yeah. Whats the X ingest pipeline in 2026 Gemini?
